With fall just around the corner and summer car-show season beginning to fade, a nice transition will be held this Sunday when the Washington Redskins play host to their second-annual Redskins Rides event.

Pigskin and sheetmetal fans can satisfy their dual addictions with the show at the Redskins' practice facility in Ashburn, Va.

Last year, more than 3,000 attended the event, and players Antwaan Randle El, Jason Campbell and Chris Cooley were among the headliners who appeared from the team.

This year, cars, 'Skins players, food, cheerleaders and music are on tap for the event, which runs from noon to 7 p.m. Tickets are $15 for adults, $10 for youths, and children ages three and younger are free.

Look for vintage and exotic cars, and the categories will include best classic and best custom. There's also an award for the best ride brought by a Redskins player.

Proceeds from the event go to the Easterns Community Care Foundation and the Washington Redskins Charitable Foundation.
